Voters resolve on main mayor races, final dialog in Miami Seaside in Tuesday’s election – CBS Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Today is Election Day Tuesday and if you did not vote early or by mail, you will need to vote in person at your assigned voting location.

Local and special elections will take place in Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, Miami Beach and Sunny Isles Beach.

“Our districts started at 7am, our poll workers are ready and waiting for our voters,” said Christina White, Miami-Dade election officer.

The city of Hialeah is voting for a new mayor and councilor.

Miami voters elect a mayor and two commissioners.

Miami Beach voters will also vote for the mayor, three commissioners, and they will decide whether the bars should close at 2 a.m. instead of 5 a.m.

Homestead and Sunny Isles Beach are also voting on new mayors.

Voters will also decide whether Biscayne Gardens will be the newest city to join the county.

“When you come out to vote today, the best thing to do is to look at your voter information notice. It is very important that you go to your assigned turf today, ”said White.

Broward hosts the high profile Democratic primary for Florida’s 20th Congressional District. Almost a dozen Democrats are vying for their party’s nomination for the seat that has remained open due to the death of MP Alcee L. Hastings (D).

The polling stations are open until 7:00 p.m.

Voters are encouraged to check their individual sample ballot before going to the polls. Bring a valid and up-to-date ID with a photo and signature.
