VETERANS DAY PARADE & PICNIC – Metropolis of Miami Seashore

Join the city of Miami Beach for the return of the 13th Annual Veterans Day Parade and celebration at 11:11 am on Thursday, November 11th. The event includes veteran and military groups, marching bands, and community organizations along iconic Ocean Drive, which begins on Fifth Street.

The biggest parade of the day in South Florida is on Ocean Drive from Fifth to 14 Streets. At lunchtime, the festivities move to Lummus Park as the All Veteran Parachute Team soars into the skies over South Beach for a demonstration. It continues with a family picnic in Lummus Park and a wreath-laying ceremony.

Participation in the parade has grown from around 50 to more than 2,000 over the years – including students, organizations, corporations, military groups, and officials. The program includes the presentation of the colors by the Miami Beach Police and Fire Department Honor Guards; a lecture of the pledge of loyalty, the national anthem and a minute of silence in honor of our tradition of Armistice Day in World War I. There will also be speeches from military officials from Southern Command and the US Coast Guard. Other activities include the 21-gun salute by the MBPD Honor Guard and an appearance by a Taps horn player.

The event is made possible by generous sponsorship from T-Mobile, Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, EASY 93.1 (WFEZ-FM), Gabriel South Beach, Meet Dalia, Shake Shack, Operation Gratitude and South Beach Hotel Group.
