The horn part (previously from Turkuaz) joins the lineup of the North Seaside Music Competition as Artists-at-Massive
Former turquoise horns Josh Schwartz, Greg Sanderson, and Chris Brouwers have registered with the North Beach Music Festival Listed as The horn department. The respective baritone saxophonist, tenor saxophonist and trumpeter will appear as artist-at-large and during the festival during the sets on December 10th and 11th North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach, Florida.
That news comes after seven members of Turkuaz announced their departure from the Brooklyn Funk Nonet on November 2nd. In an open letter to fans, guitarist / keyboardist Craig Brodhead, Brewer, drummer Mikey Carubba, Singer Shira Elias, Singer Sammi Garett, Sanderson, Schwartz and tour crew member Zach Fichter announced that they will no longer perform with the group. This was followed by a message from the front man two days later Dave Brandweinwho responded by opening up about his personal struggles with addiction, despite not directly saying that Turkuaz has been broken up.

The Horn Section joins the existing line-up of the North Beach Music Festival Pigeons playing table tennis, TAUK, Spafford (x2), The motet, Marco Benevento, Aqueous, Ghost note, Eric Krasno & the Assembly, Holly bowling, and many more. In addition, former Turkuaz singer Shira Elias will be part of a guest-filled set of The Motet, with additional support from Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident) and Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), the latter of which also features a duo acoustic set Brendan Bayliss (Ummphreys McGee).
