Right here is the exhibitor record for Artwork Basel Miami Seashore 2021 – ARTnews.com

For its first personal edition since 2019, Art Basel Miami Beach is bringing 254 exhibitors – about as many galleries as in the years before the pandemic. The fair returns to its traditional home, the Miami Beach Convention Center, and runs from December 2-4 with two preview days on November 30th and December 1st.

This new edition of the fair brings together galleries from 36 countries and includes 43 first-time participants, including First Floor Gallery Harare from Zimbabwe, Southard Reid in London, Proyectos Ultravioleta in Guatemala City, Daniel Faria Gallery in Toronto, Pequod Co. in Mexico City and Nicola Vassell and housing, both from New York.

Like many other fairs, Art Basel Miami Beach had to remain flexible and will offer some online offers in view of the ongoing threat from the contagious Delta variant. Art Basel will again stage an accompanying digital version under the banner of Art Basel Live. The fair has also allowed seven shared stands throughout the fair, while the Ingleby Gallery in Edinburgh will have a satellite stand managed by local representatives.

The fair is divided into five areas: Galleries (main area), Positions (individual presentations for emerging artists), Nova (for new work), Survey (for art created before 2000) and Editions (for works on paper and multiples). Details on the other components of the fair will be announced at a later date.

Lockdown forced the cancellation of most major art fairs in 2020 and early 2021. In May, Frieze New York and Art Basel Hong Kong hosted both editions, while last month the Armory Show took place in New York and Art Basel in Switzerland. Frieze Los Angeles said it would return in 2022, and Expo Chicago finally made the same call that summer.

Planning for Art Basel Miami Beach was made more difficult by the departure of Noah Horowtiz, the six-year-old Director Americas of the fair, in July, just five months before the fair opened. Horowitz joined Sotheby’s in September as Global Head of Gallery and Retail Services.
