ORNA Safety and Biscayne Cove ‘Rain Solar’ over North Miami Seashore Sr. Excessive with bike donation
Sometimes we don’t realize how a small act of kindness can change someone’s life. Such was the case when Lois Lax, vice president of the Biscayne Cove Condominium Association, asked Belina Nagar, president of ORNA Security, if she knew of an organization that might want used bicycles from the annual cleaning of their condominium. Belina said “yes!” and called Aventura’s Marketing Council / Chamber of Commerce with a request. “We don’t know the condition of the bikes… they are definitely used… but we hope they will be donated to a group that can really use them and fix them enough to ride them. We fill the tires with air and transport them to the group. We know there are children who don’t have bicycles and hopefully that will put a smile on their faces. “
Lois Lax added, “Every year Biscayne Cove conducts a bike wash. This year, we worked with our wonderful security company, Orna, to donate the bikes to students at North Miami Beach Senior High School with the support of the Aventura Marketing Council. We hope that everyone likes them. “
A call to Veronica Martin of North Miami Beach Sr. High School resulted in an excited, “YES … whatever condition the bikes are in!” Watching the faces and reaction of our school volunteers as the U-Haul rolled its doors and we saw a mountain of bicycles. Impressive! Cycles! Bikes of all sizes! The joy and gratitude cannot be expressed in words, as the staff and students helped unload the bikes from the truck. We thank the Aventura Marketing Council / Chamber of Commerce for connecting with ORNA Security and the Biscayne Cove Condo Association, which donated more than 25 bikes to our school. The bikes are used, some in need of repair, but a life changing opportunity awaits those who wanted or never had a bike. You never know what a small act of kindness can do to change a life. The staff and students are full of excitement … they all want to help repair or distribute the bikes. Then thirty minutes later the U-Haul came back with a couch that went to our acting department to replace the one with holes. We thank you for the many blessings, because today it is raining sunshine over NMB. North Miami Beach Senior High School staff and students are grateful for this generous donation. “
