Damien Hirst is gone, but not forgotten
If lavish luxury is the heart of the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, art is its soul. Faena’s reverence for the artistic is evident in his entrance lobby – affectionately known as The Cathedral – which is adorned with gold leaf columns and lush murals by the Argentine artist Juan Gatti. Glass doors beckon the sight of the most coveted work of art in the hotel: Damien Hirst’s Gone but Not Forgotten, an almost 3 meter high woolly mammoth skeleton that is gilded in 24-carat gold and housed in a huge glass cabinet. The installation represents Faena’s predilection for show stoppers and her larger-than-life aura.

This sensibility continues in the Faena Theater with Chandelier, which is currently the location of Tryst: A Lovers’ Rendezvous. The original show marks the return of live performances to the opulent space reminiscent of European opera houses. This original production combines Cirque Nouveau, burlesque and sultry music for an exciting and cheeky evening with aerial art, sumptuous costumes, group dancing and a little flirtation courtesy of the headliner presenter. Tryst is a recipe for a fascinating evening, from the candles by candlelight to the sexy red glow of the theater and the grace of the ensemble that you can’t take your eyes off of. Record everything on Thursday, Friday or Saturday evenings from 9 p.m. in the summer.

Before or after the show, you can reserve a dinner at one of the hotel’s epicurean favorites: Los Fuegos by the legendary Argentine grill master Francis Mallmann, who pays an elegant homage to the traditional asado, or Pao by Paul Qui, who specializes in bold fusions international kitchen. End the night with a creative cocktail in the living room.

The spirit of indulgence also permeates the glamorous suites and rooms of Faena. The hotel’s signature red and white motif appears here in the form of luxurious bed linen and colorful touch points anchored by golden accents, handcrafted teak furniture, and Carrara marble. In the morning, make yourself comfortable in a beach lounger under a striped parasol to enjoy the daydreams of the evening.
