Equality Florida Motion PAC helps Dan Gelber, Mark Samuelian re-election affords in Miami Seashore
Both candidates will receive support more than nine months before the November elections.
A prominent LGBT rights organization supports two Miami Beach officials who are seeking re-election this fall.
Equality Florida Action PAC supports Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber and Miami Beach Commissioner Mark Samuelian in their respective re-election offers.
“Equality Florida Action PAC has been in the trenches for years, fighting for the problems and causes that improve the lives of residents. Therefore, I am humble and honored to deserve their early recognition,” Gelber said Tuesday.
“Although great strides have been made in creating an equitable society, we know that much remains to be done to ensure that everyone feels safe and free from all forms of discrimination. I am excited to continue working together to ensure that Miami Beach is truly an inclusive home for everyone. “
Gelber is aiming for a third and final term that the city will lead after winning re-election unopposed in 2019. Samuelian first joined the commission after winning the 2017 election.

“I’m really proud to receive early recognition from the Equality Florida Action PAC,” added Samuelian.
“Together we have worked to make Miami Beach an equitable and welcoming city, and I continue to work to ensure that we are always on the front lines of breaking down all forms of discrimination. I look forward to continuing to work with great organizations like Equality Florida Action PAC, who fight for a better and fairer community every day. “
Both posts are impartial. So far, no candidates have spoken out against Gelber or Samuelian.
“Equality Florida Action PAC has a long history of working with Mayor Gelber and we are excited to have him running for a final term,” said Joe Saunders, senior political director of Equality Florida Action PAC, a former member of the Florida House.
“As community leaders, both Mayor Gelber and Commissioner Samuelian have defended attacks on conversion therapy bans in federal courts, called on Tallahassee to end flawed and unpopular attacks on abortion rights, and urged greater local scrutiny over gun security reform. They kept their promises to advance the policies we all believe in, and that’s why Equality Florida Action PAC has pledged our support. “
