Enterprise homeowners in Miami Seashore are responding to potential alcohol restrict modifications beginning at 2 a.m.
Ray Schnitzer, owner of the 11th Street Diner, said he witnessed crimes even when COVID curfews were in place. “It’s going to be devastating for gay tourism,” said Twist nightclub owner Joel Stedman. “We want to stay in business. We want to continue to be a safe place for the LGBT community, as we have been for 28 years. “

“It’s like another curfew,” Schnitzer wrote in a text message. “You can envision changing identity or ‘re-branding’ or ‘re-introducing’ Miami Beach, but the same will happen in the future when alcohol and clubs close at 2am, I predict.”
Mangos Tropical Cafe owner David Wallack, who has vocalized against an early hiatus, said he is now focused on moving forward and working with lawmakers.
“We need a much, much stronger plan of action to monitor our roads,” Wallack said.
The non-binding referendum would allow exceptions.
Gelber said city officials and commissioners are working on how to implement the electoral mandate.
