Dwyane Wade sells Miami Seaside villa for $ 22 million
In the waters of Biscayne Bay, NBA legend Dwyane Wade just sold his Miami Beach mansion with a Miami Heat-style basketball court for $ 22 million.
Wade and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, have been busy on the real estate front lately. They moved to Hidden Hills last year and spent $ 17.9 million on a 17,000-square-foot exhibit space before selling their quaint mansion in Sherman Oaks for $ 5.5 million in May.
The $ 22 million deal is well below the $ 32.5 million he originally asked for the waterfront property, but it’s more than double the $ 10.645 million he made for the 2010 Property has paid. Over the years, the three-time NBA champion renovated the house into a 12,000-square-foot stunner with a wine cellar, movie theater, and backyard with a pool, cabana, and private dock.
A long, covered corridor and a green inner courtyard approach the two-story house, which is kept in a Mediterranean style on the outside and offers rustic rooms with beamed ceilings and wooden floors on the inside. Window walls on both levels look out over the bay.
Six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms complete the property, including a master suite with a private terrace and salon. A spiral staircase leads down to the waterfront back yard, and to the side is a playground and basketball court painted red and black after the Miami Heat that Wade spent most of his NBA career with.
Wade, 39, spent 16 years in the NBA and formed 13 all-star teams. As a member of the Miami Heat, he won three NBA titles and was the league champion in 2009. He retired after the 2019 season and bought a stake in Utah Jazz earlier this year.
Douglas Elliman’s Brett Harris handled both ends of the deal.
