A couple expecting their first child in a few months were mugged and robbed at gunpoint at their Miami Beach home after withdrawing lease money from an ATM.

The couple, who spoke about the anonymity situation, expect to welcome their son into the household in about three months.

“My baby, my baby, he is very important, my first baby,” said the mother-to-be.

They mentioned the child is the reason they labor so hard and save their money, but on Tuesday morning they had to withdraw money to pay the rent. A few moments later, according to the police report, they could be victims of a “gun attack”.

Miami Beach police officers wrote in the report that the person and girl “withdrew $ 600 from a walk-in ATM” on Washington Avenue before walking home to their 10th Street and Euclid Avenue home.

When they got to their advance they were doing laundry and a person showed up with a gun.

“When I put the coins in, the guy is right there,” said the person. “‘Give me the money, money, money.’ I think he had to shoot her. He gave the gun to my spouse like this. ‘Give me the money.’ I want to defend my child, do you understand? I mentioned, ‘Bro, my wife, she’s pregnant, and I said to my spouse,’ Give him the money, baby. Give him the money. He needs the money. ‘”

The man added his wife put her hands in her pockets and gave the armed robber the money they withdrew. He then said the robber pushed his wife before slapping him in the face.

Shortly afterwards, the robber escaped from the complex. Although the couple was fine, it was $ 600.

The officers responded to their complex two minutes after the couple called.

The couple said it was possible that they were attacked and shadowed by the ATM.

“That’s what the police say,” said the person. “Maybe they saw us take the money from the ATM and maybe they followed us.”

Miami Beach firefighters additionally responded to the advances to make sure the couple was okay.

If you have data on this armed theft, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can remain nameless at any time and may be eligible for a reward of up to $ 5,000.
