Driver arrested after attacking a Miami Seaside police officer on an ATV

MIAMI BEACH, Florida. – A New Yorker was arrested after his car hit a police officer in Miami Beach.

According to the police, the officer was traveling in an off-road vehicle and responded to an emergency call with activated emergency equipment.

At the time, police said Nash Martin, 26, who was driving a 2014 Chevy Corvette, collided with the officer at the intersection of Washington Avenue and 9th Street.

It happened around 4:38 a.m. on Sunday.

The officer was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with a laceration on his head and a rash in the street, but was released a few hours later and is expected to recover fully, police said.

Authorities said Martin drove with a revoked New York driver’s license and should not have been behind the wheel.
