MIAMI (AP) – Prosecutors say three Miami Beach police officers are now on trial for the gross arrest of two men at a South Beach hotel. Miami-Dade prosecutors originally charged five officers with battery charges in August. On Thursday, District Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle announced the increased charges for Officer Kevin Perez and Sgt. José Perez. You are charged with a battery for third degree crimes. Officer Javier Serrano is charged with official misconduct, which is a third degree crime. A surveillance video shows an officer chasing Dalonta Crudup, 24, into the lobby of a South Beach hotel on July 26th.
