An Atlanta woman is likely to be charged with manslaughter after accidentally shooting her teenage sister.

On Sunday evening, 24 year olds Taniyria Holt of Atlanta was arrested by Miami police. Holt’s 18-year-old sister, who was reported to the police in an unprocessed report. identified Dre’Naya Ponder, is now being hospitalized with “no expectation of survival”, per PEOPLE.

Police said Holt was driving a 2019 Jaguar F-Pace on the Alton Road ramp north of Miami Beach with the victim and two other women when the accidental shooting occurred.

While he was in the vehicle, Holt had a 9mm pistol in his possession Ashley Last, who sat right behind Holt, reports the Miami Herald. The women in the vehicle also recorded their interactions on cell phones prior to the incident.

At first, police thought that Ponder’s injuries were self-inflicted, but said that Holt waived her Miranda right to silence and eventually confessed to the accident.

Holt told Miami police that they “disassembled” the gun that represents the handle and release of the gun carriage and saw sharp bullets ejected before handing it over to Ponder. Unfortunately the gun was still loaded and Holt accidentally shot Ponder in the face.
