Moist Goals Deal with Store gives adult-themed desserts in Miami Seashore

Walk into Wet Dreams in Miami Beach and the first thing that will strike you is the selection of chocolate and candy dipped desserts shaped like genitals.

Order one and the man behind the counter will smile and say, “Do you like my waffles?” They’re extremely photogenic, but they’re better when they’re in your mouth.”

It’s all part of the experience at Wet Dreams, Miami’s only adult dessert shop.

Here, customers can choose from the store’s “peacock” or “tulip” waffles (or a regular waffle if you’re not in the mood for snacking on those phallic or yonian foods). The waffles are served on popsicle sticks, making it easy to pose for photos. Pressed to order using special molds, they can be dipped in a variety of toppings (including melted chocolate, shredded coconut, sprinkles and peanuts) or served with ice cream.

Opened on Española Way in early October, Wet Dreams is designed as a unique dining experience that founder and entrepreneur Marco Torrente Corbett offers as a fun way to challenge common sexual taboos.

Corbett, who is 28, says his three-month-old establishment is the first of its kind in Miami Beach. The menu options have attracted curious clientele, including Drake, who ordered a tulip-shaped cake topped with vanilla ice cream and a dark chocolate-dipped peacock cake with a drizzle of white chocolate for his companion.

Born and raised in Spain, Corbett says he never saw himself as the owner of a naughty dessert shop. At 18, he came to the USA on a golf scholarship to attend Lindenwood University near St. Louis, Missouri, where he studied business administration and computer science.

The idea for Wet Dreams was inspired by similar stores Corbett saw while traveling through Europe. After moving to Miami in early 2020, he used the COVID-19 downtime to create a business plan.

“There was no ‘aha’ moment. It was just about how a store like this would be perceived in the US. Would Americans be curious? Corbett executes. “It became an exciting opportunity for me to provide this kind of fun. In a melting pot city like this, you can have something playful and daring.”

Corbett adds hints where he can, each dessert costs $6.90 and offers 69-cent toppings.

In the future, Corbett says, expect a summery popsicle version of his gun desserts (which he calls “Cocksicles” and “Pussicles”).

“Not only is this a unique product to get people in the door. I also wanted to provide an experience that gets people talking, interacting and laughing – and that’s what people are really passionate about,” says he. “It’s what keeps them coming back for more.”
