Miami Beach may cut spring break alcohol off earlier in am

Miami Beach would halt alcohol sales south of 16th Street at 2 am March 7-21 at the peak of spring break if a measure by Commissioner Alex Fernandez passes a final time Feb. 23.

This would be a pilot citywide, with a few restrictions on bigger hotels and part of the mixed-use entertainment district. A broader cutback of last call from 5 am to 2 am is in the works for most of the city, with details being debated.
