Miami Seaside man admits assaulting vacationers at lodge faces allegations made by different ladies – WSVN 7News | Miami Information, Climate, Sports activities

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – A Miami Beach resident faces serious charges after police said he confessed to assaulting a tourist at a local hotel and other women filed complaints against him.

Miami Beach Police arrested 32-year-old Marwan Habib at his home on Washington Avenue Thursday.

Detectives said Habib targeted a woman who was visiting South Beach from Kansas City in November.

He appeared before Miami-Dade District Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez on Friday morning. He is threatened with a charge of burglary with bodily harm and bodily harm.

Investigators said Habib broke into the victim’s room at the Victor Hotel on Ocean Drive.

According to the arrest report, the suspect “saw the defendant at the foot of her bed, jumped on her, and started kissing and touching her.”

The arrest form also states that Habib met the woman earlier that night but showed up in her hotel room without permission.

Police said the victim eventually made him leave.

Shortly afterwards, according to the police report, the woman called the hotel management and asked how Habib had gotten access to her room.

The police report said: “The hotel staff informed the victim that the defendant had her information and even had a woman on the phone who pretended to be her.

Detectives said Habib confessed to the crime, but this is nowhere near the only alarming allegation he has faced.

Miami Beach Police said their department’s criminal investigation department had received various complaints from various women who reported the defendant’s strange and worrying behavior.

The police report said the defendant is known to “persecute women to have sex or date them, even after advising them to stop” several times.

Daniella Morgan is one of the women who filed the complaint.

When asked if she left her Miami Beach apartment for fear of the suspect, Morgan replied, “Yes”.

Morgan said she was Habib’s neighbor in the Octagon Building on Washington Avenue. She said she filed a harassment complaint, adding that she was nowhere near the only one.

“Very horrible thing to molest several women,” she said.

Another neighbor spoke to 7News about Habib on the phone.

“Every time he came into the building, I was very aware that this guy lived here, so I was scared … [he is] very persistent, was harassing, “she said.

Nobody opened the door of Habib’s apartment on Friday when a team from 7News knocked on the door.

Articles about Habib have been posted online with petitions from women with similar complaints in his home country of Lebanon.

At his bond hearing, Tinkler Mendez ordered him to stay away from the Victor South Beach Hotel.

“Good. OK, ma’am,” Habib said.

The suspect asked the judge if he would be released on bail.

“Can I pay the guarantee now and go home or not?” he said.

“You’re not going home today, sir,” she replied.

“All right, as you wish, Judge,” he said.

He remains imprisoned without ties due to an immigration ban.
