A new Sushi Garage is open for business.

The popular Japanese restaurant on West Avenue in Miami Beach, which also has a location on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, has opened its third spot at CocoWalk in Coconut Grove.

The 3,800-square-foot restaurant can seat 100 diners indoors and 30 outdoors. The space is designed by Alejandro Barrios-Carrero, who also designed the Sunset Harbour and Las Olas restaurants. That includes the signature koi fish ceiling.

Diners can expect a similar experience at the new spot, which is helmed by partner chef Sunny Oh, said owner Jonas Millán.

“By expanding Sushi Garage to CocoWalk we hope to add value to the growing dining scene in Coconut Grove with our approachable concept,” he said in a statement. “We want to keep it simple and provide locals and visitors a casual sushi and every-day restaurant experience in an exciting environment where guests can come to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or simply have an exciting night out.”

That means diners can expect hot and cold appetizers like cilantro salt tiradito, kampachi yuzu and chicken shrimp gyoza. Entrees include favorites like miso maple sea bass, sliced tenderloin teriyaki and special nigiris like truffle shiitake nigiri and hamachi chili tosazu. Pastry chef Gregory Gourreau will provide desserts like matcha mille crepes and Japanese cheesecake.

Right now the restaurant is open only for dinner, but future plans include lunch. hours.
