This Michelin-starred restaurant brings sushi quality to Miami Beach in a modern and traditional way.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Kosushi made his way from Brazil to the South of Fifth neighborhood of Miami Beach this summer. Its São Paulo location was included in Michelin’s annual culinary guide from 2015 to 2019. And we’re delighted that Miami has been chosen as the first international location.

Chef Koshoji brings Japanese and Brazilian flavors to the menu with a mix of traditional and Japanese-inspired dishes. From sushi and sashimi to hot and cold dishes, kosushi offers everything. If you are looking for a cocktail, combine your meal with Japanese sake and / or whiskey from the extraordinary collection.

We cannot talk about kosushi without going into the details of the restaurant decor. Award-winning Brazilian architect Arthur Casas has created an elegant space that will take you to Japan. Be sure to look up and see the honeycomb wood ceiling structure.

Between the venue, tech-driven food, and impeccable service, kosushi must be on your list.

WHAT TO WEAR

The high ceilings and the bathroom are beautifully designed. If you didn’t post a picture of the interiors, did you even leave? Dress casually chic for lunch or dinner with a friend or for yourself. Sit at the bar and enjoy the sushi-making process.

THE MENU

Chef Koshoji offers a curated menu with signature cuts and creations of sushi, sashimi and rolls. They concentrate on technology, fresh, high-quality fish and create innovative dishes.

Dine in the restaurant or order takeaway Tuesday through Sunday. Oh, and every Wednesday Kosushi has a kaiseki-style omakase. This multi-course Japanese dinner is available from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, where Hungries can enjoy a 7- to 12-course tasting menu.

WHAT TO ORDER

As you scroll through the menu, start with the Grilled shishito peppers. The menu is divided into four main areas: signature sushi, maki, hot dishes and cold dishes. Come open to try a little of everything.

Order the salmon and truffle roll with whitefish and avocado. Don’t miss that Miso sea bass skewers. The 24-hour marinated sea bass melts in the mouth.

A very traditional dish in Kosushi São Paulo is that Salmon Dyo Ikura Quail Egg and we couldn’t miss that! A thin slice of salmon wrapped around a small rice ball topped with quail egg yolk and Ikura roe. If you try this the yolk will explode in your mouth and the combination of flavors will take your experience to another level. We loved the torches too Salmon truffle Nigiri with truffle oil, lemon peel and pink salt. If you need more sashimi in your life go to the Scallop black salt with lemon oil.

Do you fancy something crunchy? That Crispy rice tuna / salmon bites topped with creamy fish tartare ensure the perfect crunch and smooth texture in the mouth. Still hungry for more? Order the Toro or salmon belly tartare topped with caviar and a side of taro chips.
