Golf cart passenger dies after head harm in Miami Seashore – WSVN 7News | Miami Information, Climate, Sports activities
MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – A woman asks for answers after the love of her life is tragically killed in a golf cart accident.
The Miami Beach Police and Fire Department responded to the 29th Street and North Bay Road area at around 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
The victim, 40-year-old Jorgen Slots, was driving a golf cart with two friends on the exclusive North Bay Road section of Miami Beach when he fell off the cart and sustained a head injury after the impact, according to Miami Beach Police.
Slots girlfriend Morgan Geller said her significant other went to the Bay Club and then a friend’s house Friday night before he and his friends got on the golf cart.
Slots was transported to the Ryder Trauma Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
“Every day in my house felt like Christmas,” says Geller. “Nothing could prepare you for something like this.”
Geller said she was heartbroken.
“I feel like my dreams have just died with him,” said Geller. “I feel like I miss my other half. I have the feeling that it was taken. “
The couple had lived together for two years and planned to move into a house with their dog Arthur.
Geller said the last time she heard from him after he wrote to her that he would be home soon.
“‘I’ll be home soon’ and that was the last I heard from him,” said Geller.
She believes her significant other was the victim of a DUI death and wants her story to be heard.
“He probably broke his neck,” said Geller. “What bothers me is that the driver left the scene of the accident. If alcohol has been involved, I think more research is needed, ”said Geller.
She is now trying to live without her Jorgen.
“Even though he’s not here, his presence, his love for me, is still there,” said Geller.
The Miami Beach PD Accident Investigation Unit is actively investigating the incident, including interviewing people aboard the golf cart.
