Adriana Lima sells Miami Beach mansion for $40 million

Adriana Lima has wings and the world admires her beauty as well as her charm. The Brazilian model, one of the most famous former Victoria’s Secret Angels, has just sold her mansion on Indian Creek Island in Miami Beach for $40 million, further proof that Miami’s luxury real estate market remains in full swing.

Lima bought the home on a two-acre lot on “Billionaire Bunker,” as the island is known as Indian Creek, in 2009 for $9 million. Indian Creek features 30 villas on 300 acres with water views, tight security and an exclusive country club.

Lima, with a net worth of $95 million, has neighbors like singer Julio Iglesias, who also owns several properties on Indian Creek Island — one he sold to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner for $30 million in 2020 — as well as various CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and mutual funds.

A former resident of the island was Hispanic TV host Mario Kreutzberger “Don Francisco,” who sold his 7,236-square-foot, 1.2-acre residence for $23.8 million last July.

In addition to the land from Iglesias, Ivanka and Jared Kushner purchased a residence on a 1.3-acre lot in Indian Creek for $24 million in July 2021.

NFL player Tom Brady and his wife, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, bought a piece of land in Indian Creek for $17 million in 2020.

Lima’s buyer, a British Virgin Islands-based company, paid $16 million more than Ivanka and Kushner for a smaller residence (6,465 square feet) but on a larger two-acre lot.

Given the shortage of space on such a desirable but small island, it’s possible that the 1950s-built Lima home will meet the fate of many Miami Beach mansions: demolition to build another one to current standards.

Lima, 40, was a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 to 2018, the longest angel career to date. She has two daughters with former Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić, whom she divorced in 2016.

It wasn’t uncommon to see Lima walking around Miami Beach with her daughters in shorts and not seeing the supermodel persona that has graced so many magazine covers. Her last cover was the January issue of Vogue Arabia.
