“What we are is prepared. Miami Beach is a special destination all year round. We have been going through COVID for a while. There were many restrictions. What we’re seeing now is a lot more people who come to Miami Beach and don’t adhere to policies and measures that are still in place, ”said Ernesto Rodríguez of the Miami Beach Police Department.
Ernesto Rodriguez, public information officer for the Miami Beach Police Department, says they have a larger police presence across Miami Beach that will enforce these CDC guidelines.
“The goal is not to make arrests. If arrests are necessary, we will and we have enough staff, but our top priority is safety,” Rodriguez said.
