Miami Seashore Mayor Dan Gelber Holds Convention After Controversial Feedback In Digital Assembly On South Seashore Reform – WSVN 7News | Miami Information, Climate, Sports activities

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber faces further controversy following his comments on South Beach reform.

The Mayor wants changes in South Beach along with others, but the discussion about how to go about it has angered some people.

In an audio leaked from the September 13 online meeting, Gelber can be heard saying, “I am committed to you, if you want something on the ballot because it has to be on the ballot, I’ll put it on the ballot Put voting papers. “

“There are six commissioners. Two of them will be new. We must use whatever leverage we have to get these six commissioners to follow the vision and agenda of the mayor and manager to make the city safer, ”said former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine.

The audio was first sent to the Miami New Times.

Gelber wants to correct the statements made during the virtual meeting in a media conference on Friday morning.

“I’m sure something doesn’t smell right,” said David Wallack, the owner of Mango’s Tropical Cafe on Ocean Drive.

The virtual meeting followed a year of rampant crime in the area and an ongoing attempt to reset the last call to 2 a.m.

“It’s not located on Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue, Washington. It should be clean and safe, and that’s what we’ve been working for for 30 years, ”said Wallack.
