One of the best pizza places in Miami brings its talent to South Beach.
Harry’s Pizzeria, where James Beard Award winner Michael Schwartz went from fine dining to fine artisanal cakes, will open its third location on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach in July, according to a press release.
Harry’s, named after Schwartz’s son, was an instant hit when it opened on the edge of the design district in 2007. Schwartz learned the art of pizza while working for Wolfgang Puck and spent two years refining his recipe for dough aging before opening his original place.
With toppings such as short ribs and stone prawns – on a perfectly bubbly thin crust in the Neapolitan style – the pizzas stand out from the pack. Popular cakes are spicy peppers, wild mushroom mix and vegetarian-friendly roasted aubergines. Since this is South Beach on Meridian Ave. 1680, roasted vegetables from the pizza oven as well as chickpea and endive salads are offered on the menu.

A full-alcohol bar means cocktails to go with their pizza, including creations like the Cabarete, an Aperol-based drink made with elderflower, watermelon, and sparkling wine.
This place is the first since Schwartz launched his own pizza cookbook in 2019: Genuine Pizza: Better Pizza at Home. The new spot, which joins Coconut Grove and the original in the Design District, is expected to open in July and will also take delivery orders through the main apps.
Schwartz’s new outlet is welcome news for fans of his kitchen. He announced that he would temporarily close his eponymous restaurant, Michaels Genuine, where he won his beard award this summer, to renovate it after 14 years. It is expected to reopen in the fall.
