LOUNGES, BARS & PUBS:
Bodega South Beach
The first time you show up at Bodega, it’s easy to mistake it for a popular neighborhood taqueria. Look around for a man with an earpiece in the back of the room and tell him your friend sent you and you may be directed to a back door that looks like an entrance to a porta potti. If you walk through here, you will enter a men’s washroom filled with graffiti. Only after going through another door do you enter one of the hot, hidden nightclubs in South Beach. The mixologists have an extensive menu that relies heavily on “illegal” mezcal, and the DJ keeps the room going all night. Aimed at a friendly audience over 21, it’s a great introduction to the South Beach scene, minus the cover fee and lineups you find in clubs closer to the beach.
Bodega South Beach – Monday – Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 a.m.
1222 16th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Tel .: (305) 704-2145
free entry
Macs Club Deuce ♣ ♣ (Miami Beach)
Relaxed ambience, rustic decor, pool tables and jukebox make this SoBe institution a local hangout. What Macs Club Deuce did in South Beach is a miracle. Miami Vice held its cast party here. Playboy called it one of the best bars in America. And the late Anthony Bourdain said it was one of his favorite places in the world. In a city that changes like an indecisive chameleon, an island that is always sold to the highest bidder, Macs Joint has remained an untouched, neon-lit paradise untouched by external forces.
Mac’s Club Deuce ♣ ♣ – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 days a week
222 14th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Tel .: (305) 531-6200
free entry
Purdy Lounge (Miami Beach)
Avoid the crowds on Ocean Drive and head to Purdy’s, a remote place with a loyal following. When the scene is getting old or you’re just not in the mood for the nightly fight, Purdy’s is just the antidote. Hang out with friends for drinks and checkers, backgammon, or even good ol ‘Connect Four while enjoying a nice mix of music and some of the lowest drink prices. This off the beaten path bar has a street corner beer hall vibe with a touch of South Beach strut.
Purdy Lounge – Monday – Friday 3–5 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
1811 Purdy Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Tel .: (305) 531-4622
free entry
Mango’s Tropical Cafe (South Beach)
The non-stop live performances at Mango’s take you on a journey through the Caribbean. From salsa to bachata and reggae to pop, the live band and world famous Mango’s Dancers entertain over a million guests each year and have been televised on ABC, CBS, Travel Channel and many others! You will be surrounded by gourmet comfort cuisine with continental Latin American, Mexican, Italian and Caribbean dishes. Treat yourself to one of the exotic and refreshing hand-made specialty drinks. 1 hour of salsa class and mojitos can be added to your Dinner & Show reservations at 6:30 PM. This famous South Beach location guarantees an incredible night on Ocean Drive.
Mango’s Tropical Cafe – Monday – Friday 11:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Ted’s Hideout (South Beach)
This truly is a pub hideaway amid the swanky South of Fifth scenery and the beauty of South Beach. This nondescript bar is open late and has happy hour specials and multiple TVs for sports fans. It’s an easy getaway for an hour or two – or ten. Time flies in this little hiding place. Happy hour drink specialties are available daily from 12 noon to 8 pm.
Ted’s hiding place – Monday – Sunday 12 p.m. – 5 a.m.
124 2nd St, Miami Beach, FL 33139
