Man nicknamed ‘Slime’ arrested in Miami Seashore after intercourse trafficking sufferer’s escape, cops say – NBC 6 South Florida

A man is facing charges in Miami Beach after police said a sex trafficking victim was able to make her escape from him.

Jermaine Anthony Hinkle, 36, of Washington, D.C., was arrested Wednesday on charges including human trafficking, deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution, directing another to a place of prostitution, aiding or abetting prostitution, Miami-Dade jail records showed.

According to an arrest report, on July 10, human trafficking detectives from Miami Beach, Surfside and Miami Gardens Police encountered a female who said she’d just gotten away from a pimp and was trying to get back home to Virginia.

She said she met a man who goes by “Slime” on Instagram back in May and in June she traveled to Miami with him and began engaging in prostitution at his direction, the report said.

“Slime,” who was later identified as Hinkle, set the prices and helped create ads including determining which photos were used, and drove her to dates then stayed in the area until she was done, the report said.

He collected the money and determined what it was spent on, and also determined what she was permitted to eat, and the money made was used to pay for hotel rooms and living expenses, the report said.

The victim said soon after arriving in Miami he became violent and punched her on more than one occasion, the report said.

“This violence was usually prompted by the female stating she no longer wanted to work with the defendant or because she expressed her dislike for the way things were going,” the report said.

On Wednesday, Hinkle went to Miami Beach Police to retrieve property from a previous arrest and was taken into custody before he was booked into jail, the report said.

Hinkle appeared before a judge on Thursday, who ordered him held without bond.
