Drivers leaving Miami Beach Monday morning should use a causeway other than the Julia Tuttle Causeway, Interstate 195, because a crash had the westbound lanes backed up to Alton Road from about 4:45 am to about 8:55 am
The multi-car crash and ensuing police and fire rescue activity near the east bridge left only one lane open. Cars leaving Miami Beach got through at a trickle.
